How we use AI at Tallboy

Artificial intelligence is changing how video production works. That's not a bad thing. But we think it comes with a responsibility to be honest about what we're actually doing with it.

This page exists because we believe our clients deserve to know.

Our position

We use AI where it makes us better, faster, and more organised. We don't use it where it compromises authenticity, replaces real human craft, or could mislead the people we work with.

That's the short version. Here's the longer one.

What we use AI for

Most of our AI use happens before the camera rolls and after we wrap. It helps us work smarter, not differently.

That includes scripting assistance, helping us shape a first draft or explore different ways to frame a message. It includes research, transcription, and generating accurate subtitles quickly. It includes audio cleanup tools that remove background noise and improve clarity in post.

It also includes production administration. Risk assessments, method statements, call sheets, scheduling. The paperwork that keeps a shoot safe and organised. AI helps us produce these faster and more thoroughly, but a human always reviews and signs off on everything before it goes anywhere.

None of this changes what ends up on screen. It just means we spend less time on administration and more time on the work that actually matters.

What we don't do

We don't use AI generated voices, faces, or footage and present them as real without telling you.

We don't use synthetic content to replace genuine interviews, real locations, or actual people unless that's been agreed with the client as a creative choice.

We don't cut corners on craft and call it efficiency.

What we will always tell you

If AI plays a creative or editorial role in anything you will see or hear in the final film, we will tell you. Before we start, not after delivery.

That might mean flagging that we've used an AI voice as a guide track. It might mean being clear that a piece of footage was generated rather than filmed. Whatever it is, you'll know.

Why this matters to us

We've been making video for over 30 years. The technology has changed beyond recognition in that time. What hasn't changed is that our work depends entirely on trust.

Clients trust us to represent them honestly. To tell their stories with integrity. To deliver something real.

AI doesn't threaten that, as long as we're transparent about how we use it. This page is part of that commitment.

If you have questions about our approach, just ask. We're always happy to talk it through.
